So this podcasting and broadcasting thing – what the heck is it all about?
Primary goal
The first goal in taming my tiger (metaphorically that’s avenging my self-saboteur, who is always perched on my right shoulder and ridicules constantly the white knight on the other) is to show people what an incredible asset The Podcast Guy can be to generate incredibly engaged customer communities through the practice of audio marketing.
Audio marketing, you say? Rest easy: This isn’t a slimey racket to get to the top of the search engine rankings for ‘that phrase’. It’s simply that my
Secondary goal
is to make the world aware of what audio marketing is. We’ve got social media marketing; we’ve got mobile marketing; heck, if you look in your history books you might even find direct marketing when noone cared about customer interaction and engagement.
So why isn’t audio marketing up there with the best of ‘em? Put simply, until recently very few companies had the might or the savvy to reach out and develop meaningful relationships with people using all the concepts that have made radio compelling and great, in the online environment.
Audio marketing is podcasting and internet radio broadcasting – and all the beautiful things that come with it.
Tertiary goal
I’m loving a book called ‘The Home Office from Hell Cure’ right now. Specifically the bit about becoming a nexpert.
To make any kind of change in the business psyche you need to have authority and influence. I kinda agree with the author of this fine tome that a book helps.
So my third goal is to write a book espousing the theories and principles of – and actionable projects using – audio marketing.
Will I achieve it?
The passion is there. I work hard. And finally I have a real focus to get the job done.
